The Newport is a recently renovated, pet-friendly, 10-story condominium building with approximately 200 units located just south of Dupont Circle. The overwhelming majority of the units in The Newport are studio and 1-BR units, with a much smaller number of 2-BR units as well. The building boasts a secured entrance system with a 24-hour staffed conceirge desk - packages and other larger mail items can be received in your absence! Recent renovations to the common areas in The Newport include an elegantly redesigned lobby, new Italian tile in each floor's elevator lobby, and fresh paint throughout.
Residents enjoy a ground-floor secured patio area, as well as a spectacular view of Georgetown and The National Cathedral from the rooftop deck, which includes several tables and chairs along with a swimming pool. The building is professionally managed by an onsite manager and staff. Residents include a mix of local grad school students, young professionals, retirees, and others. There is a mix of owner-occupants and investor-owners who rent out their units. As for parking - there is an underground garage below the building, but those spaces are individually owned and rarely available. Street parking is plentiful, and with a Zone 2 Residential Parking sticker, you can usually find a spot on the street within a couple of blocks of The Newport. In addition, there are several underground monthly parking lots within walking distance.
The location of The Newport is absolutely fantastic - steps to Dupont Circle, close to 2 Metro stops (Dupont Circle on the Red Line or Foggy Bottom on the Orange/Blue Lines), and plenty of restaurants/nightlife. Trader Joe's grocery is within walking distance, and Georgetown is right around the corner.
